As many of you know I am undertaking a 2 year, M.SC. in Mindfulness Based Wellbeing through UCC. I am down to the final stretch of the programme as part of my research dissertation I am looking for 10-12 committed volunteers to undertake an 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme with me.  We will start the end of January and be all wrapped up before the Easter Break!!!

Who am I looking for?

Absolutely anyone! Whether you’re a mindfulness enthusiast or a curious beginner, our MBSR course is crafted for all seeking a more stress-free life. Fill in the application form and we will have a follow up chat to ensure that this is the right time for you to join.

Nourishing Day Silent Retreat:

This is one of my favourite parts of the MBSR programme, where we do a really nourishing day retreat combining all the mindfulness we have learned over the programme. We offer it as a silent retreat, this is part of the deep nourishment you will receive from the day!

  • Saturday 9th March
  • 11am – 4pm

Fee:

  • €80* to cover basic admin costs.
    • *Normal MBSR course prices range from €350-€450

Its on you....Considerations & Requirements

Time Commitment:

  1. Commit to the above dates for the 8-week programme and the 1-day retreat.
  2. If there is a particular date that you know you are unavailable, I completely understand this and I am happy to work around this.

Home Practice:

  1. There is a daily mindfulness home practice requirement. This is something that I casually glossed over when signing up for my first MBSR course, however over time, with experience and now with in depth study, I can assure you, that those who develop a personal home practice get the most from the course and go on to benefit from keeping mindfulness alive in life after our course.
  2. Formal Mindfulness practices include The Body Scan, Mindful Movement and The Sitting Practice. Practice duration are 20-45 mins (audio and videos provided)
  3. Each week you will also receive a practice log and journal sheet to reflect on your daily mindfulness experiences and home practices.

Respecting our Sacred Space and Group Confidentiality:

  1. Respecting our sacred space in MBSR ensures that participants feel secure and supported, fostering an environment where individuals can openly explore their mindfulness journey without judgment or interruption.
  2. Upholding group confidentiality is key to establishing trust among participants. It allows everyone to share their experiences, thoughts, and emotions authentically, knowing that their privacy is valued, creating a foundation for open communication and collective growth.

UCC Research Dissertation Requirements:

As this is part of my Research Dissertation and M.SC. requirement for UCC there will be an anonymous questionnaire at the start and end of our 8-week programme. (This is the FFMQ – Five Facets Mindfulness Questionnaire).

Each of the 8-week 2.5-hour classes will be recorded and submitted to UCC. The recordings will be of me, and the assessment based on my teaching of the MBSR programme, however your voices will be heard in the background throughout.

Once I have the application forms, I will give each applicant a quick call to discuss the programme, see if you have any questions, queries or concerns and make sure that this is the right time for you to do the MBSR programme.
