Yoga with Alison
From an early age I have loved all forms of creative expression, from classical ballet and contemporary dance to fine art studies. Then, I discovered yoga in my 30’s and flirted with a number of styles (Hatha, Astanga and Iyengar) before discovering Vinyasa Yoga, where the ability to sequence flows and classes really suited me down to my toes. I completed my Yoga Alliance 200 Hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training with Green Lotus Yoga. I’m committed to support first-time Yogis kick off their journey through cultivating, clarity, fascination and confidence – ready to go deeper into the practice over time.
I’ve had the pleasure of studying with some great teachers home and abroad – including Greg Walsh (Samadhi, Dublin) and Barbara Carolan (Yogaboann, Co Meath). I’ve also studied Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda with Sally Goldfinger on an Italian retreat and taken an Astanga Yoga Intensive in Spain learning the principles of MySore Practice with Elena Alverez. A while back I took a Yin Workshop Savira Gupta and I was hooked, going on to receive my Teacher Training Certificate in Yin Yoga under the guidance of Josh Summers. I feel that Yin Yoga represents the ‘other half’ of yoga or physical (yang) activity and it has given me a more complete and deeper understanding of the positive qualities of a regular yoga practice.
