Backache in Pregnancy....
Backache is one of the top complaints with all my Pregnancy Yoga and Pilates students. The two most important places to protect your back is at work and watching how you sleep. Keeping active, using your ball and coming to class will help keep your back strong, but you MUST mind your back in work.
Please read below top tips from one of my FANTASTIC students who has worked in facilities management.
Tips for Office Workers - You should be given a Pregnancy Risk Assessment by whoever is in charge of Health & Safety in your company.

This might be of interest to all my wonderful mums to be. Here is the list of the top 100 names for 2011. Clodagh my daughter is now 8 months old and her name does not feature in the top 100. I knew she was a girl for 20 weeks before she was born and I still waited 24 hours before I named her. Don’t forget Pregnancy Pilates classes are Tuesdays at 17.30 and Pregnancy Yoga Classes are Thursdays at 18. |

As a Yoga and Pilates teacher, I often get asked the following questions; How often should I do Yoga or Pilates? Should I practice at home? What exercises should I do? How can I remember what you do in class? Everyone knows the benefits of coming to a Yoga or Pilates class, and students often ask me how often they should practice outside of class. The ideal yoga practice is a daily practice, I recommend students try do something 3-5 days per week. I have recorded a one hour DVD suitable for home Yoga practice. |

I just love this. Tao is FANTASTIC. I love her strength, her grace and her fab manicure at 92. She is so strong and flexible, she positively glows. Tao is 92 years young, she looks so healthy and fresh, Tao teaches her classes every week!!! I hope that in 60 years’ time, I am still practicing daily and teaching Yoga Classes, Pilates Classes and Yogalates Classes in Dublin and have master some of her arm balances. Check out this You Tube video of a true Yogi…. |

What are the health benefits of yoga? People often do yoga simply for the feel good factor, perhaps it helps them sleep better, maybe they find it an enjoyable way to exercise. In the article below, Deepak Chopra examines the medical health benefits of yoga. If you would like to try yoga, yoga classes in Dublin 2 are Wednesdays at 20.20.

Beginning yogis often shake a lot. As muscles become stronger from regular practice, the fibers learn to trade off between firing and resting with smoother coordination. Eventually, quivering subsides (though there will always be teachers who turn even the strongest students into yoga jelly). To calm the body, try to hug the quivering (contracting) muscle against its underlying bone and press the bone into the muscle being stretched. Quivering is not necessarily bad, but it may be a sign that the body is overworked.
